Update: Cozy Socks – The Key To Warm Feet This Fall & Winter

Cozy socks from Amazon and Peter Alexander

A few years back I had surgery that required me to be under anesthesia. I remember the hospital had me put on some cozy socks and then wrapped my legs in a warm sheet to keep them warm. This is one of the last things I remember before drifting off. I felt so at peace, even before a major surgery.

Don’t get me wrong, I love slippers but there are some drawbacks to slippers that aren’t a problem with cozy socks. For starters, you can’t easily wear slippers to bed. Second, some slippers aren’t always easy to wash. And trust me, washing what you wear on your feet all day is crucial. Lastly, depending on what type of slipper you have, if you’re like my fiance and I, we like to put our feet up and dangle them, and slippers easily “slip” off (pardon the pun).

This led me to want some more cozy socks to wear when my feet get cold. I ended up ordering these pairs of fleece winter socks. They are a little on the thin side, which is fine here in Southern California, and feel a bit cheap. The main problem I have with these socks is the non slip rubber on the bottom falls off after some use and washing. One time, the black tread fell off on our floor and I thought it was mouse poop. I guess you’d have to be there to have the freakout I had. But overall I still like them and they are a good bargain.

Thick & Warm Socks

However, better cozy socks are available at other retailers. My fiancĂ© purchased some Jane and Bleecker socks from Costco. And when we traveled to Australia, I got some amazing plaid fleece bed socks from Peter Alexander. If you’ve been reading this blog or following us on Instagram, you already know we love Peter Alexander’s sleepwear! But beware, both the Jane and Bleecker socks and the Peter Alexander socks are thick! Maybe a little too thick for Southern California.

No matter where you live, there’s a cozy sock option for you this winter. In warmer climates, try finding some thinner ones on Amazon. In colder climates, try finding some thick ones either at Costco or at whichever retailer you shop at.

Update: Cozy Socks On Sale at The Gap and Costco

Recently we purchased some cozy socks from The Gap Factory Outlet Online. They come in all sorts of fun holiday and winter patterns and I even got to wear them after getting wet at Yosemite. I highly recommend these socks when you can get them on sale. My gap cozy socks were $3.99 each. My fiance got some Jane and Bleecker socks at Costco on sale for $3 off.
